1.steam: 蒸

Steam:

n. 蒸汽 / v. 蒸

Material for steaming:

dumpling 饺子

bun 馒头

The steamed buns are cold; let's heat them up.

馒头凉了, 縢一縢吧。

这馒头干硬了。

2.fry: 炸、炒

Fry: 动词

sitr - fry 炒；

deep - fry 炸；

Material for frying：

chicken 鸡肉

chips 薯条

I fried up the beef...

我把牛肉煎了一下。

Take her to your bedroom, and let me fry the chicken for you.

把她带到你的卧室里去, 我来替你炸鸡块。

3.boil: 水煮

Boil: 动词

boil the egg 煮鸡蛋

boil the noodles 煮面条

Material:

fish 鱼肉

beef 牛肉

She put some potatoes on to boil.

她煮了些土豆。

to boil an egg for someone

给某人煮个鸡蛋。

4.roast / grill : 烤

Roast:  - mainly cooked in oven 烤/焙

Grill:  - mianly cooked like barbecue  烧烤

Material:

lamb ribs 羊肋排

pork steak 猪排

Grill the sausages for ten minutes

把香肠烤十分钟。

Grill the meat for 20 minutes each side...

将肉的每一面各烤20分钟

Excuse me . I ordered a roast beef sandwich forty minutes ago.

不好意思, 我四十分钟前点了烤牛肉三明治,请问好了吗?

5.菜品的表达方式 - 基础

Rules :

cooked method + ed + main material 

steam / fry / boil / roast / grill 

蒸鱼 - steamed fish 

炸鸡 - fried chicken

水煮蛋 - boiled egg 

烤鸭/烤肉 - ______ duck

6.菜品的表达方式 - 进阶

Rules :

(cooking method + ed) + main material + with + side material 烹饪方法+主材+with+副材

番茄炒蛋 - fried eggs with tomatoes

青椒肉丝 - fried pork with seasoning vegetables (green pepper)
