Know someone:

I know Bill Gates. We go way back.

I know him pretty well.

We’ve known each other for 10 years.

Know someone:

We know each other, but not that well.

We know each other, but only professionally, not personally.

Know of/about someone:

Know of someone

Know about someone

I know of John. But I don’t know anything about him.

I know about John. He just joined our company 2 months ago.

Know one’s stuff

You have to know your stuff in order to be competitive.

Everyone really knows their stuff around here. I am learning a lot from them.

In the know 消息灵通、很在行

例句:

If you want to find out about the company’s plans, talk to her. She’s always in the know.

She is always in the know about the best new restaurants in town.

You never know 谁知道呢?

You should start saving. You never know.

I will give it a go. You never know. I might get it。
